from k9 natural diet to ziwipeaks? May 18, 2013 09:34 AM (Total replies: 4)
Personally, it's just 1 kg Just buy n try to see the effects, check for adverse reaction and see if it is better den k9.
Every dog might react differently. What works on other dogs might not work on yours

Adopting or buying a Siberian husky May 10, 2013 11:26 AM (Total replies: 6)
My advise will be to wait.
Please do consider those 1-3 year thereabouts, still very trainable, minus the chewing somemore.
I adopted my jewel at age of 7-8 mths, and she's a joy (ok.. minus the fur will make me REALLY joyful)
I'm assuming you stay landed or condo apt since they are not HDB approved?
Either one, you will have to really commit to exercising and training the dog - huskies are escape artists wif a mind of their own.. it took awhile to stop the sneaky one to escaping from the apt and helping herself to a swim in the condo fountain. The security guard was super amused.... and luckily it wasnt the pool.
Adding on.. the fur... we brushed a NTUC bag full of fur last night - pressed down + compressed in - shedding season is like twice a year, and you can really have fursnow at home
They need plenty of socialization as well.
i will strongly suggest you finish NS, start working, and den try to see if your work schedule will allow the additional member of the family, or wait till you are more settled.
Meanwhile, keep your options open, go view some of the younger ones up for adoption... you never know what you might end up with.
P.S. My guy's preference was - Male, black/white or wolf grey at least, preferably blue eyes (his mind is still on his Husky bck in states)
Jewel was wolf grey when we adopted her.. but born red/white. Female. Obviously no blue eyes. And with a character just like his.(I swear, dogs take over their owners' personality/character)
P.S.S. I wasn't keen to have him adopt a dog at tat point of time either.
Take your time, slowly look ard... no need to hurry when it comes to find the right companion for the next 10-15 years Edited by satan_gal on May 10, 2013 at 11:44 AM

Are they lost huskies? :: dunno where to post this :: May 8, 2013 04:35 PM (Total replies: 5)
next time.. when ppl tell u stuff... try to find out more to learn how to filter
1. Did it happen on them itself? 2. Under what circumstance did it happen? 3. When and where did it happen 4. How did it happen, what was the process like.
w/o all these, very hard for anyone to filter out what's rumor and what's real

Barking at... Nothing? May 8, 2013 03:05 PM (Total replies: 21)
Quote: Aiyoh , just to be aware lah ! dogs dont usually bark for the fun of barking. Even HDB oso got robbers nowadays. Even Cash dun barked in the middle of the night if she hears faraway "friends" barking , only occasionally if some1 is near my door , especially in the middle of the night , she'll start her barking n we will peep thru the bird eye to check. Our dog dun usually bark for nothing or out of the blue. Ran --- Original message by ranchu003 on May 8, 2013 01:21 PM My grouchy old woman has been doing tat recently.
I suspect as she ages, she's inclined to inform me whenever Jewel takes a dump in the loo, as she's allocated herself space right outside my room door which is facing the loo as her bedroom.
as such, Jewel has also been trying to accommodate her, and shifted her midnight biz to the service area at the back (which I usually use as fur-guests toilet)
Thou I must admit.. it gives me the creeps when Cisco sits at the planter in the middle of the night staring out at nothing (not even downstairs), her hackles raised and her engine growling..

you can always choose not to have such a personalized + confirmed can take dog on spec time service.
Personally, I also dunno y owners need to send dogs to daycare either, and that these daycare are overcharging...
Next time u get a cabby who is happy to ferry your pets, ask them for their number, and call them direct.
Me.. I more ngeow... unless absolutely need to... I call cab - I have all the cabby co numbers in my phonelist anyway.

Barking at... Nothing? May 8, 2013 10:04 AM (Total replies: 21)
Quote: Staying in landed property , nvr ignore when your dog barks as intruders cld be just distance away .
Dont u let him roam free in the night ?
Ran --- Original message by ranchu003 on May 8, 2013 08:53 AM from experience... if there's intruders lurking ard.. not just your dog bark - next door dog also bark.. dog opp also bark...
so all u need is an idiot lurking ard the street middle of the night to set the whole estate dogs off...
strange thing is most of the dogs are not triggered if it's walking past. the alarm sounds when one stops at the gate, or comes too close.

Quote: So the best solution would be to take him out for walks more often? --- Original message by dracoriff on May 7, 2013 08:15 PM take him for a walk. preferably 15-30 at LEAST each day. And not just walk... is brisk walk - where his focus is in YOU and not on the cat or rat passing by
See if it improves.. and update us

Taxi Driver Ruined my Day May 7, 2013 06:04 PM (Total replies: 6)
errr... normally i will get the operator to check and confirm with the uncle that yes, he's aware of the dog
I've brought my girls out TOGETHER before. And we're talking 2 bigger dogs + 1 fat human. I have a quilt type of material cover which the girls use as a bed - I'll usually spread it over the seat before lettin the girls get in. (And yes, I have at least 2 of everything per dog at hme )
For me - I've met wonderful drivers who don't mind the girls wet (ya.. swimming), who dun mind them dirty (ok.. dog run = mud).
In fact I brought them swimming once, and I think maybe the tip I gave was gd (coz the uncle was gd and nice) - uncle actually stayed awhile to watch the dogs play, and asked if I needed a ride back.
Another time I was waiting on the line for over 3 hours with the girls at the dog run, with no cab picking the call, a kind uncle pulled over and allowed us to board. Happy him. No need to pay for booking commission.
i've met nasty drivers who can't stop scolding about the smell... the dog will bite.. blah blah blah.. and nope.. no tips for these uncles - I will ask for my change right down to the very last cent. Oh.. I totally ignore them during the ride. Wads the point of giving them reasons? Smelly? OPEN WINDOWS! My dogs LOOOOVE it. he can kpkb all he wans!

My favourite fish May 7, 2013 05:50 PM (Total replies: 2)
My fav kind of fish.. the the kind tat is deep fried and dressed with ketchup/chilli/sweet sour sauce.... the soon Hock cannot be too big... nor too small...
Just kidding.
I had a gator gar, which din make it after my FIL did a WC. have a Florida now... but of all the gars.. I do think the Cuban is hardest to get out of my mind.
ghost knives can grow up to a gd size as well. Did you know the electric eel belongs to knife fish family? The one knife tat I'm smitten with is the Aba Aba... sweet sweet face.. till it comes up and kiss your fingers - smiling as you yell your head off.
Sting Rays too.. still contemplating a nice pair of Pearl rays some time later.
bichir wise... there are quite a few. Are you talking about the endlicheri/ aka Endy? The other one similiar wld be the con and the lap... grows to similiar size. The smaller ones u see would be senegalus bichir
I love all small fishes.... my fishes love them too.
They provide me entertainment watching my fishes happily havin supper.
