I bought a rabbit from another owner few days after i brought it home,it turn aggressive. even by sweeping away her poops, she attacks the broom. i phone the previous owner and he told me that she could be pregnant as he had put her with another male for quite a long time so i let it off.(because i could not handle her and wanted a refund) a week plus and now it bites her fur from her leg. her leg has no fur now..and shes having trouble walking can someone help me? i read from the website that when female rabbits are pregnant they pluck their fur from the belly but mine was from the leg.. what could be the problem? i could not hug her as she will bite neither can i feel her abdomen whether there are babies inside please help as i dont know what happen to the rabbit and how to handle her.. its heartbreaking to see her like this, even though i just had her! both of her hind legs are now almost naked with no fur except the skin left.. please help!!!!!

It is common for does esp. Netherland Dwarf to be aggressive during pregnancy, they will nip their owner when they put food inside the cage, so as to protect of her nest. - instinct. A vet visit will be good to confirm pregancy & get professional help. The vet will recommend you to sterilise your rabbit, to free her from hormonal aggression.
If confirmed pregnancy & not false pregnancy (common in unsterilised), you will need to prepare a nest box for the babies. Leave her alone for a month and rebuild the trust after her nursing period.
Alternatively, you can email The House Rabbit Society of Singapore (HRSS) to help rehome your bunny if it really beyond your means, information@hrss.net. Edited by Amazinglove on Sep 6, 2010 at 04:32 PM

my rabbit was a teddy lop..she wasnt like this when i first saw her and brought her home.after a few days she became aggressive. she had not build her nest though. i wanted to refund back to the previous owner as she was aggressive and was dangerous for my family. but the previous owner told me that she might b pregnant as he had placed another male wit her for quite some time.. i let it off as i thought it might be possible that shes just being protective of herself. but just a week past,i found that she was limping and i saw that her leg was sort of being cut by something and that she was injured. i assume that the male rabbit attacked the female,so i placed de male in de cage as i could not carry the female because of her being very aggressive. not knowing the next day, her hind legs were now barely had any fur on it already. i would like to ask what could be the problem before visiting the vet as she was doing fine for de past week. its only that she would squeal everytime anybody touches her. and that she refuse to let the male mate with her. i had suspected that she was pregnant.but i wasnt sure about it. this is my first time keeping a rabbit.so im very concern about them. i have read up alot of stuffs about pregnancy of a rabbit. she does had some of the symthoms just that she doesnt builds her nest. thats why it doesnt convince mi that she was pregnant. but now she seems to be having troubles moving around i dont know what was going on it seems like her hind legs have no strength Edited by ahgaogerr on Sep 6, 2010 at 05:42 PM Edited by ahgaogerr on Sep 6, 2010 at 05:49 PM

Probably the pain is excruciating that she refused food and drink - this could be a emergency. Her wound might be just superficial, worse if there is infection spread to her bone. You may want to call up The Animal Dr (under the shoppe place for the no. - top left hand corner) to make an appointment to confirm if she pregnant and take a look at the seriousness of her wound. Meanwhile, you can get Oxbow Critical Care (from Little ND pet shop) mixed with water and syringe into her mouth since she is not eating.
Aiyo, I worry for you & your rabbit.

i thought it was wound.because of a small exposure of her skin. as i could not touch her,as from my view it seems like a cut. but this morning when i look at her legs.it was both barely without fur on the top, with no cut at all. it worries me. if its not injured, why her legs had minimal strength now..that worries me alot. i left her alone as i dont wanna stress her further just in case she is really pregnant im worried too.. its my first attempt on having rabbits. and i cared bout them alot even though i just had them for a week plus..

There a forum member, rabbitholic post her holland lop with sore hock on @ http://www.petschannel.com/forum/?page=topic&topicID=11710&start=11 You may like to take a look and see if your Teddy lop wound on her leg look like that. Or you can post picture of your rabbit's wound so that the moderator/s or senior rabbit owner can take a look to advise you accordingly.

it looks like this from the side view. i could not get the front view. i tried to bring her to the vet, but she struggles and ran off when i tried to carry her. it doesnt looks like a wound to be.. its just a bare skin after she pulls her fur out but she was having trouble using the legs its heartbreaking to see her like this. i wanna bring her to the vet asap but i just could not make her go into the carrier..*Sighs* Edited by ahgaogerr on Sep 6, 2010 at 11:34 PM Edited by ahgaogerr on Sep 6, 2010 at 11:42 PM

Hi, from your postings i understand that u currently have 2 rabbits? a buck and a doe? The new doe is the one u just got from another owner and u put the 2 unsterilised bunnies together for a while till she got aggressive? Also, the doe could be pregnant from the previous owner's buck? Now the female one is having trouble and u need help?
Please note:
1) 2 unsterilized bunnies of different sex will definately be mating. Or the buck will definately try to mount the doe regardless of whether she is willing or not, already pregnant or not. The doe will resist and a fight and injuries may occur.
2) if the doe was already pregnant before you got her and introduced her to buck 2 (yr own bunny), you could have a serious problem in your hands as this means that this poor doe would have been impregnated by buck 1 (previous owner buck) and then again by buck 2 (yr buck) even before she gave birth - double pregnancy.
This bunny would have two types of kits growing inside of her (batch from buck 1and batch from buck 2). This is LIFE THREATENING to the doe and kits as I recall reading somewhere. PLEASE BRING HER TO THE VET ASAP.
Her small body will be unable to withstand the stress of the many full grown kits (fm buck 1) and the many still developing kits (fm buck 2) nearer maturation date and would lead to a slow and painful death for her. If she dies, the kits in her would definately not surive either.
Once again, PLEASE BRING HER TO THE VET by tomorrow so that the vet can check if she indeed has a life threatening double pregnancy. By doing so, you may be able to accertain the surival of your new pet.

i got this to rabbits from the same owner. different breed.he did not inform me anything about the doe having the possibility of being pregnant until the day i sms-ed him telling him that the doe was sort of aggressive. as for the start i thought she was afraid of me and my family because of a new environment. but as time pass by,the buck was already very familiarise with my home and was hopping around everyday. but the doe was not getting any better. i am very sure that they does not fight together. she was actually quite ok as usual..being not sociable.. but until yesterday when i notice about her hind leg.i thought that she might had knock onto something that hurt her leg. but when i woke up this morning, her leg was barely with any fur and no cuts was seen on her leg. i wished to bring her to the vet asap. but i had troubles bringing her into the carrier.

Just wondering, how long have u had these bunnies and how old are they currently?
If I'm not wrong some bunnies are able to have kits by 3-4 months. I'm not sure if she has a double pregnancy or not by I think she is definately pregnant (as does are not sociable but more protective of themselves when they are pregnant).
Her hind foot also doesn't look good and the fur looks like it is plucked out (perhaps by her, perhaps by the male). Thankfully there's no visual open wounds.
I still recommend that you bring her to the vet tomorrow just to check if she has a life threatening double pregnancy and also to check on the foot.
It may be difficult to get her into the carrier but I believe it is possible and it is for her own good.
I hope to hear good news soon and all the best.
