Dear friends,
I just got my baby, a toy poodle yesterday and she was full of fun and energetic, now here is the problem, she starts to scratch frequently and we don't know what's wrong! We bathed her and then we realised that there were white translucent insects on her body!! not exactly on her skin but on her hair!! May I know if anyone has such experience? Are they ticks? We asked our friends and they said ticks are black in colour?...... Please advise!! TIA!!

its best to let the breeder / pet farm know about this. as they are likely to give you a sick puppy. she ought to see a vet ASAP.

hi there..
when you get a new puppy, pls visit the Vet immediate (or real soon), for a health check, good for you and puppy.... at least for now, you definitely need to see a Vet... to solve the issue...
Tks

better than your puppy to the vet. Besides the insects & health checks, your puppy would most probably need his vaccinations before you can take him outdoor

Based on your description, it could be lice or it could be the "walking dandruff" or chleytiella mange.
ALL dogs when first adopted / bought should be brought to a vet at the earliest opportunity for a general health check-up. Especially puppies.
The vet should be able to give u a definite diagnosis on the infestation.

It's not ticks, ticks is black or brown colour & u can't see flea. Don panic consult vet to ensure that your pup is fine & healthy or you could quickly check out with petshop (pet lover centre) pet consultant, they maybe able to assist. Take care!
