Programme and Events | Time | Events | | 9.00am | Fun Event - Great Minds Think AlikeParticipants will be presented with a variety of doggie toys and treats. You are to guess which toys your dog will fetch and which treats will entice your dog most. The slices are then thrown into a “kiddie “pool. The objective is to see how long the dogs will take to retrieve and eat them all. Fastest dog wins! | | 10.45am | Dog Demonstration by SCDF DART Team | | 11.30am | Fun Events - Hot Dog RetrievalEach participant will be given a hot dog. There will be a start point and an end point of about 10 feet apart. The first line is the starting line. Each person will toss their hot dog over the second line and send their dog to get it. Once the dog has the hot dog, the owner will call the dog back. The object of this game is to get your dog to bring back the hot dog to you uneaten. Most dogs, of course, think the object of the game is to eat the hot dog as quickly as possible, so it's very entertaining to watch the participants trying to get their dogs back. The dogs on the other hand will try to enjoy their hot dog whilst making their way back slowly. Will they obey their master? | | 12.00noon | Stage Games | | 1.00pm | Stage Games | | 2.00pm | Competitive Agility Games Challenge 1 - Tunnelers - Pre-RegistrationThe objective of the game is to demonstrate the dog's ability to follow directional commands from the handler while negotiating a course consisting of only tunnels. The tunnelers will be scored based on timing and faults (wrong course, body blocking etc.) | | 2.30pm | Competitive Agility Games Challenge 2 - Jumplers - Pre-RegistrationThis game marries speed and jumping at a distance. The course will consist of jumps and tunnels. There will be a defined “containment area” where handlers will earn bonus points for carrying out obstacles at a distance. The jumplers will be scored based on time and for faults (includes wrong course, minus bonus). Dog with the shortest time wins. | | 3.00pm | Competitive Agility Games Challenge 3 - Junnel - Pre-RegistrationThis game requires the dog to perform a jumping sequence and a tunnel. If the dog knocks down a bar, the handler must put the dog in a pause box (dog will be required to adopt a specific position of either down, sit or stand) and replace the bar. The dog is then allowed to continue on course from the faulted jump. If the dog goes off course, the dog will be required to start the entire course from the beginning. The Junnel is based on scored time only and the dog that takes the shortest time wins. | | 4.00pm | NATIONAL DOG WALK 2010 | | 5.00pm | Family Event - Amazing Race - Pre-RegistrationEach Team (of owner/s and dogs/s) will be given clues to complete a series of checkpoints in the vicinity. All Teams must be self equipped with a camera with a SD card. The photos will be transferred to the orgnaiser’s computer via card reader. The results will be judged based on how fast the Team completes the race and also the photos taken at the checkpoints must be valid (backdrop, etc). | | 6.00pm | Fun Events - Snoopy SaysParticipants will be asked to form a line with their dogs and play a game that is a variation of "Simon Says" with their dogs.
