Eating Out With Pets
Eating out in a pet-friendly eatery or in a licenced pet café can be great fun for everyone if all measures are taken to keep your pooches under control. They should always be by your side and not wandering off to other diners' tables or distracting other people's pets.
Your pooch should always be on leash while out in the public area. When seated, the leash should be fastened around something stationery, such as your chair or table, to prevent your dog from frequently checking out other diners.
It is perfectly fine to give your pooch a treat and order some of the dishes that are prepared especially just for pets. However, never let your pet eat off crockery and cutlery meant for humans. It is an unhygienic and inconsiderate practice as other diners may not be comfortable with using cutlery licked by animals. Also, germs and bacteria that are common in dogs may be spread to humans if precaution is not taken.
Lastly, it's always best to let your pet empty its bowels first before bringing it out for a meal. Nobody wants to dine with the foul smell of pee and poops, including other pooches. If your pet shows signs of distress, take it out of the café for a short walk to calm it down then bring it back to the café again.
A calm and well-behaved dog is a pleasure to watch and be with, even for non-dog owners.
